Derrick Sprott Joins Broadcast Booth as Color Commentator at Dodge City Raceway Park

Dodge City, KS – 2/27/2025 – Derrick Sprott, a seasoned racer and former sports radio personality, is stepping into the broadcast booth as the new color commentator at Dodge City Raceway Park (DCRP). Sprott will join Dalton Janousek, who returns for his second season as announcer, to provide in-depth race analysis and exciting coverage for fans.

Sprott, driver of the #91 IMCA Modified, brings years of on-track experience to his new role. Beginning his racing career in go-karts, he moved up to Sport Compacts at DCRP, consistently ranking near the top in points. Over the years, he has competed in various divisions, including Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, and Mod Lites, securing multiple top-five finishes and feature wins at both Dodge City Raceway Park and Airport Raceway. He now looks forward to his rookie season in the IMCA Modified class while adding broadcasting to his racing resume.

“I’m excited to be part of the broadcast team at Dodge City Raceway Park,” said Sprott. “Racing has been my passion for years, and now I get to share my insights and love for the sport with the fans from the booth.”

In addition to his racing background, Sprott has extensive experience in sports media. He previously served as the Sports Director for SWKS Radio, hosting multiple on-air shows across the Southwest Kansas radio industry. His combination of real-world racing knowledge and broadcast experience makes him a perfect fit for the DCRP commentary team.

When he’s not racing or behind the mic, Sprott enjoys hunting, fishing, and simulator racing—all of which keep his competitive drive sharp.

Fans can catch Sprott’s debut in the broadcast booth alongside Dalton Janousek at Dodge City Raceway Park this season.
